Outreach

Royalties from sales of Gifts 2 will help fund the printing and distribution of a new Down syndrome resource, “What Parents Wish They’d Known: Reflections on Parenting a Child with Down Syndrome.”
This upbeat booklet for new parents shares the joyful surprises of raising a child with Down syndrome. It’s full of insight and reassurance from veteran parents who offer what they’d wish they’d known when they began their journey with a child with Down syndrome–that their child would be accepted by peers, that through the parenting experience, they would become a better person, that they would feel incomparable love and pride for their child, that their child is more alike than different from typically-developing children, and much more.
In 2010 complimentary copies of this booklet will be available for community outreach. Meanwhile, please feel free to download this inspiring booklet for yourself and to share with family, friends, pediatricians, teachers, and support organizations (posts to websites and reprints in newsletters are permitted with proper attribution to Kathryn Soper/The Segullah Group).
